Forsythia Festival 2016 Review.
I had the absolute pleasure of working my best friend Jessica's booth for her jewelry business, Beyond The Stars Boutique, at the Forsythia Festival this past weekend. Let me just say that the people working the Forsythia Festival are some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. They were very professional and encouraging. I saw so many of them being enthusiastic towards small business owners and creatives. It was very refreshing to be in an environment were your creative spirit is embraced. I worked retail for 6 years and never once had this feeling.
I also would like to take a second and comment on the vendors. We had a great group of people surrounding us. They were so very quick to jump up and help at a moment's notice. They helped answer questions and gave advice from previous years and mistakes they had made to help us not go through the same struggles. These people wanted you to succeed.
Jessica's husband Matt made all of her display stands and had some new ones there last weekend that were just beautiful. They were grey stained with copper accents. Ugh. Just beautiful. He works so hard to help his wife reach her goals and it's super sweet to watch. :)
Now for my friend Jessica... I have seen this girl working so hard over the past six months to get her business up and going. We've laughed, cried, and shared all kinds of crazy emotions during this process. She is such a hard worker and I am so unbelievably proud of her and her work. If you don't know, she makes handmade jewelry and it is gorgeous. Starting a business is not easy, I should know I'm currently running two. ;) I'm tired. lol anyways... She has hit the ground running and let me tell you, watching this process of your friend following her dream is so encouraging. She has got a real talent for this and the passion is overwhelming. I have known Jessica for 15 years and I have loved every minute of it. I can't wait to see where we are 15 years from now.
